Exhibition of celebrated Scots artist John Lowrie Morrison to take place

An exhibition celebrating the work of Scottish artist John Lowrie Morrison will take place in Glasgow’s Mitchell Library.

Jolomo at The Mitchell, will include a variety of rarely seen portraits and several new large-scale panoramic works.

Fans of the Maryhill-born artist, who is known as Jolomo, include Sting, Madonna and chef Rick Stein who have all purchased his work.

The exhibition will also reveal another side to Morrison’s work: portraits and drawings of Argyll crofters and portraits from his time as a student at Glasgow School of Art.

All paintings (excluding the retrospective works) will be on sale with a percentage of proceeds going towards the Carers Trust, where John is Vice President alongside wife Maureen.

The exhibition which is to be opened by HRH The Princess Royal, will take place in the Reading Room of the Mitchell Library from November 20 until November 26 from 10am to 4pm.
