Man charged over North Lanarkshire drugs bust

The 28-year-old is expected at Hamilton Sheriff Court today

One man has been arrested and charged after drugs were recovered in North Lanarkshire.

On Wednesday, 12 March, 2025, officers acting under warrant attended an address in the Hawick Street area of Wishaw.

Quantities of drugs were recovered, including cocaine and benzocaine with a street value of around £150,000.

A 28-year-old man is due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Thursday, 13 March in connection.

Enquiries are ongoing.

Detective Superintendent Steven Elliot said: “Illegal drugs cause such suffering to families and communities and we remain determined to dismantling drugs networks.

“Anyone with information or concerns about drugs should contact Police Scotland on 101 or make a call to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
