Driver Seriously Assaulted By Gang of Youths In Partick

A man was seriously assaulted on Saturday after chasing a group of youths who attacked his car.

Police are appealing for information following a the incident which took place in the Broomhill/Partick area of Glasgow at around 1pm on the 24 October 2015.

The 21 year old was driving his red Vauxhall Corsa south on Crow Road towards Partick when items were thrown at the car by three youths.

The driver of the car followed the youths as then ran off along Marlborough Avenue at Broomhill. He was then assaulted by the group, sustaining a serious head injury after getting out of the car.

The man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and has since been released.

Officers want to speak to three young men in connection with the incident.

The first is described as white, late teens, 6 foot tall, with blond wavy hair. He was wearing a light grey or white coloured t-shirt.

The second is described as white, late teens, skinny build with blond hair. He was wearing a grey jumper, possibly with a Hollister logo on the front, and dark jeans.

The third is described as Asian, late teens, skinny build, broad shoulders, with facial stubble and short black hair. He was wearing a green t-shirt and blue chinos.

Detective David Hardie from Partick CID said: “Crow Road would have been busy around the time of the incident and we would like to speak to anyone who witnessed three youths throwing items at a car.

“I understand they may also have been in possession of alcohol and I would appeal to anyone who saw three youths matching the descriptions in the area around the time of the incident to get in touch.

“Officers are carrying out enquiries including examining CCTV and speaking to local residents.
