Body of missing teenager found
19 year old Alisdair McVicar from Dunoon has been found at the water's edge in the Locan area of the town.
A body's been found in the search for a teenager missing from Dunoon.
Police have confirmed it is that of 19 year old Alisdair McVicar who disappeared on Wednesday morning after a night out.
His body has been recovered from the water's edge in the Locan area of the town.
Police say his next of kin have been informed and have formally identified Alisdair.
Chief Inspector Paul Robertson said: "It is with deep regret that we can confirm the recovery of Alisdair's body and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this very difficult time.
"Our thanks go out tall partner agencies and members of the public for their efforts and assistance over the past two days."
His disappearnce sparked a major search operation involving a local mountain rescue team and the Coastguard.
