A Barrhead woman attacked a security guard with a chair and kicked a police officer as they tried to throw her out of the T in the Park music festival.

Kelsi Kerr lashed out after being taken to the ejection office and told that she was no longer welcome to stay on the festival site.

Fiscal depute Cheryl Whyte told Perth Sheriff Court: "At 10.30pm on Saturday 9 July the accused was brought to the ejection office by security staff.

"She was described as being under the influence of alcohol or other substances. When security staff tried to get her details she was shouting and they tried to calm her down.

"She then picked up the chair next to her. Mr Elkin thought it was going to strike him so he raised his arm to deflect the chair.

"It struck him on the finger. Police were contacted and they tried to restrain the accused by pulling her to the ground. During that she kicked the police officer."

Kelsi Kerr, 26, of Barrhead, admitted assaulting James Elkin by throwing a chair which struck him on the hand during T in the Park on 9 July.

Kerr also admitted kicking PC Grant Kennedy on the leg at the festival and sentence was deferred by Sheriff Gillian Wade for reports.
