Appeal after cat dumped at door of Glasgow police station
Animal charity name the feline 'London' after the station in the east end of the city where it was abandoned earlier this month
An animal charity's appealing for information after a cat was dumped at a police station in Glasgow.
Staff at the Scottish SPCA have named the feline 'London' after the station in the city's east end where it was abandoned on Saturday 13th of August.
The charity's Inspector Elaine Lindsay says: "The poor cat was dumped by someone who was seen leaving him in the reception area of the station.
"The person arrived in a taxi, put him through the automatic doors, rang the bell and was seen getting into the taxi again.
"London is a long haired, male, black and tan adult cat. He's a friendly boy and we aren't sure why someone would want to abandon him like this.
"We will look after him until we find him the loving home that he deserves."
Staff were alerted on Saturday the 13th August when the animal was discovered next to the doors of the station.
It is an offence to abandon an animal and anyone found guilty could be banned from keeping animals for a fixed period or life.
