Woman hit by HGV at Aintree shopping park

Merseyside Police are appealing for information, after a woman in her 70s was hospitalised following a collision involving an HGV wagon.

It happened at Aintree Racecourse and Bus park in Liverpool.

The HGV driver stopped at the scene.

A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "We were contacted at around 12 noon today (Thursday 21 October) to reports of a collision involving a woman and a HGV wagon on Aintree Racecourse and Bus park in Liverpool.

"A woman in her 70s has been taken to hospital with serious injuries to her legs.

"The driver of the HGV stopped at the scene.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact the social media desk @MerPolCC on Twitter ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre’ on Facebook, or call 101 with log 0352 of 21st October."
