A Wirral man's due before magistrates tomorrow - accused of assaulting a police officer and possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin.

It follows the arrest of a man at Ditton Lane in Moreton, he'd been riding an electric motorbike and was seen acting suspiciously and going into some shrubs.

When approached by officers he swung a glass jar at them, causing a cut to one of their heads which later needed stitches - the jar which broke and a large number of bags contained what's believed to be Class A drugs fell on the ground.

The man resisted arrest and struggled with officers, during which one sustained a wrist injury.
