A man has been detained and a gun recovered

Police have detained a man and recovered a gun has been recovered, following an incident at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital.
At around 10.20 this morning, a man in his 60s was detained at the front of the hospital.
He is now being medically assessed.
All road closures in the area have now been lifted.
The Royal's main entrance had to be closed for over 12 hours, but the hospital operated as normal throughout:
