Detectives investigating the fatal stabbing of Jordan Brophy in Halewood have charged two men.

Mr Brophy, who was from the St Helens area, sadly passed away in hospital on Friday evening (29 October), after being found with stab wounds in Beechwood Avenue.

31-year-old Karl Townsend and 22-year-old Jamie Cunningham, both from Halewood, have been charged with murder and possession of a bladed article.

They will appear in court today, Tuesday 2 November.

A 62-year-old man has been conditionally bailed. A 36-year-old man remains in custody.

Additionally, a 26-year-old man has been released on bail pending further enquiries, and a 33-year-old man has been released with no further action taken.
