The family of a man who died following an incident in Wirral have issued a tribute.

Scaffolder Robert Duffy, 45, from Walton, was taken to hospital following an incident at a house in Rice Hey Road in Wallasey at 1.20pm on Thursday 20th May.

He sadly died in hospital on Sunday 23rd May.

The results of a post mortem have been withheld pending further tests and Merseyside Police is working with the Health and Safety Executive to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Mr Duffy's death is not currently being treated as suspicious.

His family have today issued a photograph and tribute to Mr Duffy:

Robert was a gentle giant, he had a heart of gold and he’d go out of his way to help others. He enjoyed watching his beloved Liverpool FC.

He’ll be missed by so many, life will never be the same again our jigsaw will always be missing a piece.

A much loved Husband, father, son, brother and friend has been taken from us far too soon. The house feels so quiet and empty without you here with us.
