Merseyside police are appealing for information, after a group of men went into a Liverpool shop and used electric saws to steal clothes.

It happened yesterday evening (Tuesday 2 November) at around 6.50pm. Three men wearing face coverings reportedly entered Sevenstore clothes shop on Norfolk Street and, after using electric saws to cut security wires, stole a quantity of Canada Goose and Moncler coats, as well as some t-shirts.

They made off in a black Range Rover believed to have been on false plates. The suspects are described as 'being in their early 20s, of skinny build and wearing casual clothes'.

Detective Inspector Chris Saidi said:

"This will have been a shocking experience for the staff present and any witnesses, as well as the stress and inconvenience such crime invariably has on businesses. We believe that the three men entered through the shop door on Jamaica Street, before cutting security wires and removing these items. Such reckless brandishing of saws could easily have caused serious injuries, so we’re determined to find those responsible.

"Extensive enquiries are now ongoing. If you saw the incident or captured these men or their vehicle driving off, please come forward as your information could be vital in tracking these people down.

"Likewise, if you are offered or see such items recently advertised online or elsewhere, tell us and we will take action."
