Teenager charged after stabbing in Thatto Heath

The victim remains in hospital with serious injuries

A man's been charged by police following a stabbing at a pub in St Helens.

Officers were called to reports of a 19 year old man having been stabbed in the head at the Vine Tavern on Elephant Lane on Saturday night.

The victim also suffered knife wounds to his chest and arms - and he's still in hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries.

It's believed that two people, one armed with a knife, were involved in the attack.

19 year old Gareth Parr, from Gibbons Avenue in St Helens, is accused of assault and causing grievous bodily harm with intent, as well as possession of a blade in a public place.

He has been remanded into custody to appear at South Sefton Magistrates Court today (Monday 8 August).
