Teenage boys arrested after drugs seized in St Helens

Two teenagers were arrested at an address in St Helens after officers seized a large quantity of suspected Class A drugs last night (Thursday 31 March).

At around midnight officers conducted a warrant on Pigot Street where about 100 bags of suspected crack cocaine and heroin were recovered.

Two teenage boys, aged 17 and 13, from St Helens were arrested at the address on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A and B drugs, handling stolen goods and possession of criminal property after officers also found a mountain bike at the property.

Both males were taken to a police station in Merseyside and have since been released under investigation.

Local Policing Inspector Robert Budden said: “Thanks to our officers conducting a thorough search of the property, not only were several bags of suspected dangerous drugs found but also a stolen bike worth around £800.

“We hope the recovery of these items shows our commitment to remove any dangerous drugs that could cause fear and harm to families and others in our community.

“Information from our residents about people who are storing weapons or dealing drugs is a vital part of our efforts to protect families and bring offenders to justice.
