Surge in passengers expected from Liverpool Airport as the UK eases more restrictions
Fully vaccinated travellers returning to the UK no longer have to take a test - which cost around 20 pounds per person
Liverpool Airport's preparing for an increase in passengers as the UK scraps coronavirus testing for fully vaccinated travellers.
As of 4am this morning, people who are fully vaccinated will no longer need to take a post arrival lateral flow test, which typically costs around £20 each.
You also don't need a PCR test when you arrive back in the country or need to quarantine as you wait for your results as long as you've had your two jabs.
Robin Tudor from the airport says it's great news ahead of the half term holidays :
"To get these restrictions lifted in time is really good news and if people want to get something booked now, it's an awful lot easier, and more importantly, cheaper because these tests can be quite expensive, particularly if you're a family going away.
"The only restriction still in place is a form people need to fill in to get back into England, so hopefully if people are looking to get away it gives them confidence a lot of the hurdles are no longer there, so it's really good news".
