in a statement yesterday evening (26 August), police confirmed officer remained at the location in the morning to conduct further enquiries.

Detective Inspector Darren Taylor said: "We are in the early stages of the investigation and are keen to speak to any witnesses who saw any of these men in and around West Derby Village in the early hours of Friday morning, or if you were driving by and have captured dashcam footage then please get in touch.

“The incident has caused significant damage to the premises which will take time to repair and is a huge inconvenience and distress to not only people who work there each day but also people who depend on it and shop there.
