Murder investigation launched after man dies in St Helens

Three people have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a man in St Helens.

Police were called at 1.30am on Tuesday 22nd August by the North West Ambulance Service, to reports a 54 year-old man had been assaulted on Brookhouse Grove.

He was taken to hospital for treatment and later discharged after speaking with officers.

The following day, the same man collapsed inside a property in Brookhouse Grove and was taken to hospital where he sadly died.

A post-mortem took place to establish the cause of death and his family is being supported by specially trained officers.

Two men aged 54 and 42 years, and a 29-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of murder. They have been released on conditional bail pending further enquiries.

CCTV and witness enquiries are being carried out, and anyone with any information is asked to contact police.
