Squatters occupy disused bank in Birkenhead's Hamilton Square
Group say they want to turn in into a haven for rough sleepers
A group of squatters have occupied a disused bank in Hamilton Square
They say it's to raise awareness of homelessness and that they're receiving a lot of support from the public.
The Love Activists previously grabbed headlines after occupying a former bank in Castle Street in Liverpool in 2015
Last year 5 people were jailed for their part of the occupation.
But these group of squatters say they are a different group and not tied to what happened in the city last year.
More than 100 people, many of them homeless, are currently now inside the old Barclays.
Signs on the window said they were seeking donations of items including food, bedding, cups & plates.
Jack's told us they're happy to talk to anyone about what they're doing
He said: Just come and have a chat, before you hurl an abuse at us, just come and speak to us, we geninely have nowhere to go and that's why we're here"
Daniel who also living there said; "We've had good & negative people, the negative don't realise that we're doing the building up though"
