Merseyside Police are asking any witnesses to contact them 'as a matter of urgency'
Police are investigating following reports shots were fired at a house in Kirkby.
Officers were called at around 7:50pm on Friday 22nd December to a property on Alvina Lane where damage had been caused to a door.
There are no reports of anyone being injured.
Merseyside Police are now conducting house-to-house, witness and CCTV enquiries in the area.
Chief Inspector Dave Currie said: “It is very early stages as we seek to establish what has taken place and we are speaking to people in the local area to understand what has happened.
“It appears a group of males on Sur Ron bikes turned up at a house in Alvina Lane and shots were fired towards a doorway.
“Thankfully nobody was injured but clearly incidents such as this have the potential to have serious or even fatal consequences.
“I would ask anyone who has information about this incident or was in the vicinity of Alvina Lane this evening and witnessed any suspicious behaviour to contact us a matter of urgency.
“Guns have no place on our streets and the public need to tell us what they know so we can take action.”
