Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher says he's confident the Premier League will be doing all it can to avoid another disrupted season because of Covid.

It comes after new measures were put in place yesterday meaning all players and staff at the 20 clubs will need a lateral flow test every day to get into training grounds to stem a rise in positive cases.

With next season already facing disruption because of the World Cup in Qatar, Carragher's confident the league is acting fast to prevent further outbreaks :

"There's been a few games postponed and that's right you can't take the risk but I think clubs are in a much better position than they were twelve months ago so I don't see a season getting curtailed or anything like that.

"You look back at some of the games and it feels like you're watching a different sport so when the fans came back the feeling was fantastic but there will be rules and measures put in place to keep that going I'm sure and I think that's the best measure for everyone".
