It's the first full day of disruption on the trains across Merseyside - following the closure of Lime Street at the weekend.
The city's biggest station shut on Saturday, for the first phase of a multi million pound upgrade to the platforms.
It's as Network Rail predict that passenger numbers in and out of Lime Street will double in the next 20 years
It means long distance services, like Virgin Trains to London and London Midland to Birmingham will start and finish at South Parkway over the next 21 days.
To get people in and out of the city centre, Merseyrail are putting on extra services with more carriages as well
Frank Rodgers, Merseytravel Chief Executive said: "It's gone as well as expected, there have obviously been some challenges"
"Trains are busy but not overcrowded. The key message is that the car park at South Parkway is likely to be full before 6.30, so we'd advise you to not use the car park after that time"
