The homeless dogs at an animal sanctuary in Melling have had a 'pawty' to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III!

It's not the first time that staff at Carla Lane Animals In Need have put on a royal reception either... they held a similar event for the Queen's Jubilee last year.

Bunting was put up, party hats were worn and a picnic spread was put on for the animals to enjoy.

Jane McGee from Carla Lane Animals In Need said:

"Extra volunteers came in to involve as many dogs as possible.

"The dogs love a bit of a do and of course they love a sausage or two and a paste sandwich so they'll benefit greatly from the extra fuss!"

The other animals at the sanctuary also made sure to get in on the fun too...
