Police officers and firefighters attacked with fireworks on Bonfire Night
Merseyside Police say it's lucky no one was killed last night - after several incidents involving fireworks.
They received more than one and a half thousand calls - up 12 percent on last year.
Outside Lime Street Station, a group of youths lit a firework and put it in a homeless veteran's pocket.
Two PCSO's were also targeted by a group of young people with fireworks while on patrol in Liverpool 8
Inspector Andy Creer said: "This kind of behaviour isn't a joke, it's a criminal offence."
"One firework could cause serious harm to someone"
Meanwhile, Merseyside Fire Service says four crews were attacked while on call outs last night.
Fightfighters came under attack in Dingle, Kirkdale, Huyton and Birkenhead by youths throwing fireworks.
Arson Incident manager Michael Burati said: "That behavior is absolutely unacceptable . We can only put it down to sheer luck that one of our officers wasn't severely injured."
