Police incident closes part of Liverpool city centre
Emergency services were called in the early hours
Merseyside Police have confirmed emergency services are currently responding to an incident on Stanley Street, following reports of a concern for safety of a woman.
Emergency services were called at 2.09am this morning and specialist police negotiators are currently talking to the woman.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service and paramedics are also in attended at the scene as a precautionary measure.
A number of roads in the area have been closed whilst officers negotiate with the woman and diversions are in place.
Stanley Street is completely close and Dale Street is closed from Moorfields, which will cause significant disruption for those coming into the city this morning, so commuters are being advised to plan their journey and leave plenty of time to get in to the city.
Officers have thanked local residents for their patience and understanding.
