Murder investigation underway after woman's body found in Huyton
A 21 year old man has been arrested
Detectives have launched a murder investigation and arrested a man following an incident in Huyton this morning (Wednesday 11 May).
At around 8.30am this morning officers were called to a house on Radway Road following a report that the body of a woman had been found inside the property.
Emergency services attended and she was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. The woman’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by officers.
A 21-year-old man from Liverpool, who is known to the victim, has been arrested on suspicion of murder. He has been taken into custody to be questioned.
Scenes are currently in place on Radway Road and York Road as crime scene investigators carry out forensic examinations.
Detective Inspector Laura Lamping said: “We can confirm that a woman in her 40s has sadly died this morning following an incident at a house in Huyton.
“Although an arrest has been made, we are in the very early stages of the investigation as we seek to establish what happened at the address. It is therefore vital that anyone with information that could assist our enquiries gets in touch.
“If you live in the area and witnessed the incident, or saw any suspicious behaviour this morning on Radway Road, please contact police immediately. Any information, no matter how small, may prove vital to our investigation.”
