Merseyside pensioner jailed for historical child sex offences
The 73-year-old has been sentenced to more than 23 years behind bars
Merseyside Police have welcomed the sentencing of a 73-year-old man, found guilty of historical child sex offences.
David Morana, of Altfield Road, West Derby, was charged with 25 offences of rape, indecent assault and indecent exposure, involving three female victims in the 1980s and 1990s.
Following a trial at Liverpool Crown Court he was found guilty of all offences.
He was sentenced yesterday (Monday 14 November) to a total of 23-and-a-half years in prison with a further two years on extended licence.
Detective Constable Samantha Cox said: “David Morana is today behind bars serving a prison sentence for the crimes he committed.
“While no sentence will repair the damage that his abuse has caused, I hope that by seeing him sent to prison will give his victims some sort of closure and allow them to move on with their lives knowing he cannot harm anyone else.
