Heavy snow has caused rush hour travel problems for commuters across Merseyside.

Liverpool airport was forced to shutdown for a time this morning, though flights had resumed by around 11am. Chester Zoo also announced they wouldn't be opening to the public today due to the wintry weather.

Merseyside is currently under a yellow warning for snow for the next 24 hours with some travel disruption possible. Amber weather warnings have been issued across the South East, northeastern England and the East Midlands.
