Man in critical condition after motorbike crashes into stationary car

A man has been taken to hospital in a critical condition with serious chest injuries after a crash in West Derby village.

It happened late yesterday morning on Queens Drive - involving a man riding a motorbike, and a parked black Volkswagen car.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police.

In a statement, the Merseyside force said: "Emergency services are currently in West Derby following a collision this morning, Sunday 27 August.

"At around 10.25am we received a report of a collision on Queens Drive involving a man riding an orange and black motorbike and a parked black Volkswagen car.

"The man was taken to hospital with serious chest injuries where he remains in a critical condition.

"Queens Drive near the junction of Derby Lane is closed whilst police continue their investigations and motorists are advised to avoid the area."
