Man dies after 'falling from bridge' at Wallasey Tunnel

Police were called to the scene at around 5am on Sunday morning

Police are investigating the death of man found near the Wallasey tunnel this morning (Sunday 27th November).

The man reportedly fell from the bridge on Wheatland Lane at around 5.05am, and officers started performing CPR when they arrived.

An ambulance took him to hospital where he was later sadly pronounced dead. The man has yet to be formally identified.

Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and emergency services remain in the area to establish the full circumstances of this incident.

The tunnel was closed in both directions for a number of hours but reopened shortly after 9am.
