Man airlifted after double stabbing in Toxteth

It happened on Danube Street yesterday evening

A man's been airlifted to hospital after a double stabbing in Toxteth.

The man, in his 20s is being treated for injuries to his back, leg and chest after it happened on Danube Street at around 6.20pm yesterday (Tuesday 8 August).

A short time later a second man, also in his 20s, turned up at hospital with injuries to his arm and hands. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Merseyside Police believe the two incidents are connected.

An investigation is underway and house-to-house, CCTV and witness enquiries are being carried out in the local area.

Chief Inspector Lisa Ledder said: “Enquiries are in the very early stages as we seek to establish what has taken place.

“One man has been taken to hospital and a further man self-presented at hospital with injuries. We are currently examining CCTV and doorbell footage and speaking to witnesses to understand what led up to the two men being injured.

“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area of Danube Street who saw or heard anything or anyone who has any information to contact us as a matter of urgency.”
