Liverpool have revealed their new away kit for next season

The club say the new stripes take inspiration from the founding jersey worn in 1892 and features a quartered design that re-introduces the bottle green colour of the 1991/1992 and 1995/1996 LFC away kits. Featuring a subtle pin stripe within the quartered design, the shirt is completed by a black collar.

Liverpool FC Vice-Captain James Milner said: “This kit looks classic - up to date, but with a nod to the past - it will be a reminder of the foundations this great club is built on every time we wear it. The whole team is really proud to be a part of this huge anniversary for the Club, and we can't wait to wear this kit next season.”

The new away kit features an embroidered 125th anniversary commemorative crest, the Liverbird emblem flanked with ‘1892’ and ‘2017’, as well as a debossed ‘125’ to the shoulder seam tape; a unique feature of the New Balance home and away kits for the 2017/18 season.

To commemorate the tragic events of Hillsborough, the 96 emblem, encased by the eternal flames sits at the nape of the neck.

The kit is completed by black shorts and white socks with a green horizontal stripe and black trim.

General Manager of New Balance Football, Richard Wright said: “The design for this year’s away kit has a special place in Liverpool FC’s history as it recalls Liverpool FC’s first ever strip as it embarked on its 125 year journey.

The New Balance design and tech teams have done a brilliant job in creating a kit that will be an instant classic not only amongst the fans but also the players.”
