A Liverpool mum is calling for a total ban on stopping outside Liverpool schools, amid fears bad parking is putting children's lives at risk.

Our region is the worst in the North West for road traffic accidents, with more than 2,500 in the past three years.

Jo Colleran helped us set up Bobby Zones at hundreds of Merseyside schools, after her 6 year old son was knocked down and killed on his way home in 2014.

She says she fears history repeating :

"The parking, the parents, we need to have a zero tolerance outside our kids schools. The cars are parked, the roads are gridlocked, people ar egetting annoyed because they're in a rush and the only ones who are going to suffer are the children because they've got no chance of seeing them.

"It's a lifelong nightmare and it never gets better. It's horrid. I do everything I can, I phone these schools and tell them. We do all of our work, we educate children, we have our Bobby Zones but people have got to realise, is it worth putting a child in danger?"
