Fan groups are calling on French authorities to come to Liverpool and hear for themselves how badly supporters were treated in Paris.

Following talks with Uefa, ministers in France are again blaming Liverpool fans for the problems at the Champions League final.

They say 30,000 - 40,000 thousand British people tried to get in using fake tickets with many fans getting tear-gassed by police.

Joe Blott from Spirit of Shankly says supporters simply aren't to blame :

"I would more than welcome a visit to Liverpool to speak to fans who were there and they can give their experiences.

"The organisation was dreadful but the response was even worse and indiscriminate use of batons and tear gas cannot be justified against fans who had tickets.

"They say they put fans first and they quite clearly don't. It's so important we have an independant investigation now that takes into account every single aspect of evidence that is there, so that no football fan has to suffer this going forward".
