The heartbroken mum of Liverpool school girl Ava White wants to take her daughter's tragic story into Primary schools to teach kids about the devastating effect knife crime has on both families left behind.

Yesterday, a 15 year old boy was told he'll spend at least the next 13 years behind bars for Ava's murder.

Her mum, Leanne is vowing to use her daughter's death as a lesson to all youngsters about the dangers of carrying a blade:

"If you put a knife in your pocket then you're intenidng to use it and you're not only destroying your life but the life of your family as well.

"The knive sthese kids are carrying round are not just normal knives, they're flick knives, they're pen knives, they're hunting knives".

DSI Sue Coombes, from Merseyside Police, hopes the case is a turning point in the fight against knife crime :

"Everybody was shocked and I think we need to keep that level of shock and remember the consequences here, and I hope, this i sthe moment that Liverpool and Merseyside, take a real stand against knife crime.

"Young people need to realise the consequences both to a young girl, a young girl's family and friends, but also to them, a life sentence, a life changed, and they do no pick up that knife".
