The man, who comes from Huyton, was arrested in Kent and has been taken to a police station where he will be interviewed by detectives.

Three men from Huyton, aged 28, 25 and 36, who were arrested on Thursday (8/6), on suspicion of murder, have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

Joseph Holland, 25, was found dead at a property on Huyton House Road on Thursday night.

Officers are continuing to review CCTV footage from the area, as well as carrying out house-to-house enquiries. They have asked that anyone who saw anything contacts them.

Meanwhile, Merseyside Police say patrols have been stepped up in the area. In a statement, Superintendent Karl Baldwin said: “This incident has understandably caused a lot of concern for the local community and officers remain in the area not only to carry out enquiries but also to provide a visible reassurance for residents who live in the area.

“The Knowsley Policing Team's Mobile Police Station will be in the area of Huyton House Road and Jubilee Park over the coming days, for anyone from the community to call in and talk to us about your concerns.

“Officers will also continue their regular foot and mobile patrols around the area."
