Cyclist hit by lorry in Kirkdale

Emergency services are in Kirkdale after a cyclist was hit by a lorry this morning (Tuesday 26 July).

Merseyside Police were called to the junction of Stanley Road and Bankhall Street at around 8.25am, following reports of a collision involving a lorry and a female cyclist.

The ambulance and fire services are also at the scene.

The condition of the woman is being assessed, and the lorry driver stopped at the scene and is helping police with their enquiries.

Road closures are in place at the junction of Stanley Road and Commercial Road; and the junction of Bankhall Street and Derby Road.

Officers are asking people to avoid the area.
