As Liverpool prepares for life after the pandemic, business leaders are predicting big things as the City centre looks to bounce back from Coronavirus.

Experts predict multiple lockdowns and a loss of revenue has cost the city centre an eye watering TWO BILLION POUNDS!

But it's not all bad, as more than 50 million people visited Liverpool in 2021. That's up over a third on the previous year.

Bill Addy from Liverpool Business Improvement District says there's plenty to be positive about over the coming year :

"The reduction in footfall and sales and lower occupancy rate in hotels, th efigure is potentially around about two billion pounds.

"Having seen how we recovered in 2021 I'm very confident about how we'll do in 2022, I'm very confident this city will bounce back. We've got new businesses opening, Flannels a big UK brand, Decathlon, a big international sports brand. We always bounce back, we are a resilient city.

" We are in a good position but there needs tender loving care of the city's businesses to make sure we come out of it and we grow year on year after this".
