Community Invited to Celebrate The Life Of Liverpool Legend Gerry Marsden MBE
A special service takes place at the Anglican Cathedral later
The life of Gerry Marsden MBE – the singer, song-writer, musician and television personality – will be celebrated at a special memorial at Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral on Friday.
And Gerry’s family has today opened up this celebration to members of the local community – those people who meant so much to Gerry.
They say this is what Gerry would have wanted – a man who was renowned for both his love of the city of Liverpool and his love for the people of the Merseyside region.
Gerry, who was born in Toxteth, died in January last year at the age of 78.
Yvette and Vicky, Gerry’s daughters, said: “We are so very proud of dad and we really want March 18th to be a memorable day and a true celebration of our dad’s life and his incredible achievements.
“We know he touched many hearts and lives and this is the reason we have decided to open up the celebration to members of the community. We know this is what dad would have wanted to happen and we hope as many people as possible will share in this special day and be a part of this moment for our amazing dad.”
