Merseyside Police have issued a CCTV image of a man after a pensioner was assaulted and robbed in Vauxhall.

The woman in her 70s was walking on Eldonian Way on Saturday, September 10th in broad daylight at around 3.10pm when a man tried to snatch her handbag.

After trying to pull back the bag, the male offender pulled harder and forced the bag out of the pensioner's hands.

This caused the lady to fall to the floor and hit her head, allowing the suspect to flee the scene with her bag.

She suffered minor injuries and was left very shaken by her ordeal.
