Big drop in young adults in Liverpool coming forward for Covid jab
In some parts of the Liverpool around two thirds of people aged 18 to 34 still haven't come forward
Health experts in Merseyside are telling us vaccination centres here are seeing a big drop in the number of young people coming to get their Covid jab.
In some parts of the Liverpool, like Edge Hill, around two thirds of people aged 18 to 34 still haven't come forward.
John Ashton is the former health boss for the North West and has been vaccinating people himself at the Pier Head
He says some people feel too confident about where we are with the pandemic :
"Eighty or ninety percent of the population are very keen but the problem at the moment is the idea that the pandemic is near the end so there's no particular point in getting the vaccine.
"Younger people are being admitted to hospital so the idea that this was only something that affects the elderly and people with vulnerabilities is not standing up now".
