The grandad of 23-year-old Duncan Browne, who died after an attack in the city centre last week has called on the public to help catch his killers.

"I want to tell you a little bit about our Duncan." He said.

"He was born on the 13th of April 1999 three months premature, you could hold him in the palm of your hand that's how small he was."

"He fought, fought so hard and he overcame that adversity to become a six-foot-two beautiful, kind, generous, warm-hearted, respectful, young man."

He was aspiring to be a firefighter to serve the community."

"He was a model pupil and did very well and went on to Edge Hill University to do sports science."

"But then he decided he wanted to change his path."

"He got a couple of jobs, but he wanted to be a firefighter and he'd just passed his theory driver's licence and was ready to go on the next course"

"He was a mad Everton fan. As you can see from his name, his dad was a madder Everton fan."

"He named him after Duncan Ferguson. He was a good footballer himself."

"He was just a nice, fun-loving guy and he went out to watch a football match one night and never come home."

"England won last night and he would have been made up just to see that happen but unfortunately he's not there now."

"His dad Colin was his best friend and Colin's best friend was Duncan."

"That's how close they were. His younger brother Shay is devastated."

"He's only a kid. He can understand that he's lost his brother."

"There are only four good things that have come out of this."

"He donated organs donated even though it's very traumatic for the family, it was the right thing to do."

"We've been told now that two kids have shared this liver and two adults about the kidney each. So we say four lives."

"That's what he's done. He's a hero. He's a hero."

"I'm appealing to anyone out there who was in the vicinity of that street or got told anything on that street, just to ring the police and tell them."

"We want true justice for our Duncan. That's what we want."

"If anyone in our lovely city can help us out as a family we'd be very obliged."
