"Beatle-mania is here to stay!"
The Liverpool band's final song is being released today
More than 40 years after it was composed, the Beatles' final ever song is about to be released.
'Now and Then', which features all four Beatles, was first written by John Lennon in the late 1970s.
After Lennon died in 1980, his widow Yoko Ono gave the song, which was on a cassette, to Sir Paul McCartney.
Thanks to advancements in audio technology, the song has been completed by Sir Paul and Sir Ringo Starr.
The track will be released at 2pm today (Thursday 2 November).
The Fab4 store at the Beatles Story will be selling the vinyl's of 'Now and Then' as well as the remastered, re-released blue and red albums.
Mason from the Beatles Story said:
"It's just such an exciting time - this song that's been 40-50 years in the making and there's still so many Beatles fans around, even 60 years since their career began.
"We see it every day at The Beatles story - fans of all ages coming down and and being so passionate for this, for this band who don't seem to be going anywhere, they're going to be around for a long time to come, I think.
"I think the music being so timeless and then being relevant and resonating with every generation so far since their career started, it's it's just testament to their talent, really, isn't it? And it's going nowhere. The love of The Beatles, Beatle-Mania, it's here to stay!"
HMV Liverpool is opening its doors for a special midnight launch event tonight to allow 200 fans to be the first to buy a copy of the single.
Doors will open at 11pm, with the single being sold from midnight.
