As part of our Social Addict campaign a young woman from Lancashire been telling us how her use of social media took over her life
She was 15 when she was diagnosed with depression.
Months later, after moving schools she started using Tumblr, an blog creating site, which allows you to share stories and images
She said: "Tumblr was the only i minly used, I had diffrent blogs, for writing, and it grew from there
"I think I was so drawn to it because there was so many people going through the same things as me. It's anonyamous"
Gradually, she started to use the site more and more, and it started to take control, and she told us it affected her family and friends.,
"It got to the point where I was in my bedroom all day, everyday, and I was staying up late at night, I wouldnt go to sleep, and I wasn't eating much"
"The worst part was I was reposting harmful images, such as self harm, and suicide. When the police were called because it got out of control, I realised then I should stop, and that it was taking over my life"
Since deleting the blogs, Hannah rarely uses the site and is spending a lot more time out and about with friends. She wants people who are in a similar position to understand that it's not worth the time
"When I look back at the way I was, I feel it was a waste of time. Even though you find it difficult to step back, you need to focus on real life"
