Woman dies after car crashes into local dock
Car was spotted in Waterloo Quay this morning
Officers are in attendance at Waterloo Quay, following an incident earlier this morning (Friday, 20 May). Emergency services were called at around 9.40am to reports a car was spotted in the water. Officers attended alongside Merseyside Fire and Rescue and staff from the ambulance service. An elderly woman was removed from the car by Merseyside Fire and Rescue service, and efforts were made to resuscitate her but sadly she was later pronounced dead at hospital. Officers are working to identify the woman and contact her next of kin. The area has been cordoned off while enquiries are on-going and any witnesses are asked to contact the MSOC Roads Policing team on 0151 777 5747.
