Viola Beach inquests opened and adjourned

Families can now start planning the funerals of the Warrington band and their manager

The inquests into the deaths of the four members of Warrington band Viola beach and their manager have been opened and adjourned.

The Coroner's told the familes they can now start planning funerals.

Kris Leonard, River Reeves, Tomas Lowe and Jack Dakin and their manager Craig Tarry all died when the car they were in plunged off a motorway bridge into a canal in Sweden. Brief details of the crash were mentioned at the short hearing at Warrington Town Hall this morning but the Coroner went on to say the investigation in Sweden is still continuing.

The inquests will be heard again at a later date.

In the meantime the families were told that their bodies can now be released so that their loved ones can be laid to rest.
