UPDATE: Girl Dies After Taking Ecstasy - police make arrests
Police issue a warning after a 17-year-old girl has died from taking an ecstasy drug called 'Master Card' at Victoria Warehouse in Manchester.
Police investigating the death of a 17-year-old girl who may have taken a form of ecstasy known as "MasterCard" have made two arrests.
Greater Manchester Police have issued a warning and urge anyone who may have taken this drug to seek medical attention.
The teenager who has not yet been named, attended the event on Trafford Wharf Road in Trafford. She suffered an adverse reaction after allegedly taking the pill whilst on the night out, police were called to the scene at 5am on Monday 2 May. She died in hospital a short time later.
Detective Chief Inspector Ben Ewart of GMP’s Trafford Division said: “Our thoughts and condolences remain with the family of this girl at this heart breaking time.
“We have made two arrests in connection with this investigation and currently have a man and a woman in custody who will be questioned later today.
“Sadly, we know that other people will have taken this form of ecstasy, known as ‘MasterCard’, and we are continuing to urge anybody who may have taken it to please get themselves checked out.
“Anyone with any information about what happened or where this drug may have come from is asked to contact police as soon as possible.”

The Liverpool Echo reports that it is the third tragedy to hit the family.
Her mother Maxine lost Faye's brother Jordon to cot death aged just 23 months in 2004.
A month later Faye's sister Neve also passed away from cot death aged 18 weeks.
