The bodies of a man and a woman have been found in the wreckage of a fire damaged house on Mather Avenue in Allerton.

Firefighters tackled the blaze on Sunday 23rd October but had difficulty getting in to the property due to a high quantity of debris in the house, which had also contributed to the intensity of the fire.
The building was deemed unstable as the roof has collapsed onto the first floor, which in turn had collapsed onto the ground floor.
The house was demolished on Tuesday to allow investigators in, and after a search two bodies were found
MFRS Incident Investigation Officers are working closely with Merseyside Police colleagues to establish the cause of the fire and next of kin have been informed.
