Tributes are being paid to former Everton ladies player Zoe Tynan who's passed away at the age of 18.

She spent five years with the Blues’ Centre of Excellence before joining Manchester City. Most recently she was with Fylde, whom she joined earlier this month.

Zoe also earned international recognition with England’s youth sides alongside a number of her former Everton teammates.

“It is really sad news to hear about Zoe’s passing,” said Everton ladies manager Andy Spence. “Having worked with her from the age of 12, she was a fantastic person and a really talented footballer.

“She contributed a lot to the Club while a youth player and she will be sorely missed. Zoe was always thought of as a really special person and someone who always wanted to do well for the Club.

“There are a number of our players who have played with Zoe through the age groups and it is a difficult time for everyone who knew her.

“All of our thoughts are with her family, friends and teammates. As a Club, we of course offer our support to anyone who needs it. I know her family personally and whatever we can do as a club for them we will do for as long as they need it.

“Once you play for Everton, you are always a part of our family and that is very much the thoughts of myself and everyone associated with the Club.”
