Remembering Tranmere at Wembley
20 Years On...
Last updated 28th Feb 2020
On 27th February 2000, Tranmere Rovers played Leicester City in their first, and to date, only major cup final.
John Aldridge had guided his side to the Worthington Cup final at Wembley, with the Super White Army beating top flight sides Coventry and Middlesbrough en route to the capital.
They also battered bitter rivals Bolton in the last four to reach the final.
Celebrating 20 years since the game, Radio City Talk’s Matt Jones has put together a special documentary looking back on the season.
