Three Men Jailed For Life For Murdering St Helens Teenager On New Years Day

Three men have been sentenced for the murder of Jordan Campbell. Jordan died on 1 January 2015, when he was assaulted and died as a result of a stab wound at a flat in Tickle Avenue, Parr, St Helens.

Daniel Joseph Wiltshire, 25 years of Wargrave Road, Newton-le-Willows has been sentenced to life in prison, with a mimimum tariff of 21 years, after pleading guilty to murder. Ruben Thomas Hoather, 22 years of Tickle Avenue, Parr has been sentenced to life in prison, with a minimum tariff of 19 years, after pleading guilty to murder. Mark Anthony Wood, 32 years of Elephant Lane, Thatto Heath has been sentenced to life in prison, with a minimum tariff of 21 years, after being found guilty of murder. Detective Sergeant Jackie Guinness said: “This was a brutal and unprovoked attack on a 17-year-old youth, who had gone to a party, where he expected to celebbrate the New Year and sadly had his life cruelly taken. “Jordan had his whole life ahead of him and the actions of these three men have taken his future away and have left a big hole in his family. Their actions can only be described as despicable and cowardly. “There is no place in our communities for people who commit such violent and horrendous crime and their sentence reflects the severity of their offences. While it cannot undo what has been done, I hope their sentences will in time give the family some sense of closure. “I’d like to thank the investigation team and the Crown Prosecution Service for their hard work in bringing this case to court.”
